What is LL-37?

LL-37 is the only known human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide, naturally produced by immune cells and epithelial cells as a key innate immunity component. Has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses, and fungi by disrupting microbial membranes. Particularly valuable for disrupting biofilm formation — a major challenge in chronic infections. Also modulates immune function, promotes wound healing, and stimulates angiogenesis.
